In the words of Dusko himself, "Many years ago I was taking a break from my work as software engineer and took a course in handcrafted log home building. At the moment the teacher started the chain saw I knew - this is not for me. Way too dangerous, loud and hard work. So I sat in the grass, opened a beer and watched the guys working. Had a real good week, learned a lot and had fun.
2 years later - out of no where - it just hit me how to produce those homes with machines. I decided to spend my time on this project with the goal to build those houses affordable for anyone."

Nicola Logworks
Building to the highest standards and quality levels of the custom log home building industry is important to us at Nicola Logworks.
Our goal was to offer system-built log homes that retained all of the characteristics of our hand-crafted log structures without sacrificing the organic appeal of large natural logs and with joinery tolerances that meet or exceeded our handcrafted standards.
Our dream was made possible by software engineer Dusko Ballmer of Ballmer Systems Technology who coincidentally shared our goal of more affordable log homes and had developed a unique robotic system with proprietary software programming.
This is a game changer for our customers. This panelized, modular construction method is quicker to assemble on the customers’ site and is particularly well suited to remote and difficult to access properties.
Robot Assisted Log Construction features Piece-en-Piece joinery and is available in both scribed and chinked system styles and can also be implemented to cut post & beam log work and spiral stairs.

Big wood provides added stability, longevity and aesthetic impact.
We build Big Timber Trusses.
We build using large-diameter logs, typically 14" - 20" for Advantage Wall Panels and 18 - 24" for Post & Beam construction, though you will see in our Homes Gallery we can use much larger.

We offer our in-house design team to help you create your ideal home in structure, style, layout and interior design. And if you have a home plan already, we can review and refine the details with you to ensure it meets your individual needs, budget and build site.

We Are Eco-Friendly,
Green Builders
We use reclaimed wood whenever possible. We responsibly and with permission rescue old wood from abandoned properties that have been left to ruin or marked for demolition.
We save and transform this lost wood into shingles, siding and flooring for placement in a new loving home.
Advantage Panel Systems
Traditional Saddle-Notch Log Home construction can settle as much as 8" -10" over time due to log diameter shrinkage, undermining the structural integrity of your home. It also lengthens the finish time and increases price.
With our unique Advantage Panel System we can build in many styles to suit your needs without any shrinkage based on our unique system which uses concealed fasteners, round or flat logs, and a wide variety of finishes, textures and chinking to match your home aesthetic.
Advantage panel systems are especially ideal for hard-to-access properties, and always save you build time and expense vs traditional techniques, while still delivering the highest standards in craftsmanship and quality.
